Pawel
Kowal was born on July 4th, 1971 in Poland/Cracow, master's degree in automation
engineering, graduate at the AGH University of Science and Technology and the
Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - painting department. Painting and drawing
accompanied him from his early youth. Initially, these were works with a pen or
charcoal. Favorite topics of that period were architecture, industrial and
railway infrastructure, which are close to the author's interests. The next
stage is the development towards pencil and pastel techniques. Then painting
workshops and the development of this difficult art with Mrs. Ewa
Gadnicka-Włodarczyk, still remembered by the author as "The first
initiator of progress". At the Academy of Fine Arts, under the supervision
of outstanding lecturers: prof. Andrzej Bednarczyk, prof. Zbigniew Bajka, Ph.D.
Witold Stelmachniewicz, Ph.D. Michał Zawada, Dr. Kamil Kuzko and Dr. Grzegorz
Wnęk, the author developed his technique, slowly delving into the techniques of
oil painting, but also drawing and wall painting (murals) and multimedia
techniques (photography, sculpture, film). The Academy developed his way of
perceiving art, demolished all barriers of artistic correctness, freedom of
expression and launched an avalanche of contact with his own inner emotional
experiences. Above all, it provided motivation to act, develop and work. This
path led him to many new activities, which resulted in many different thematic
attempts to personalize his discoveries in art. The current topic of his works
are reflections on everyday life compiled into serious, often current social
topics. These include: technology, "ecology",
social sociology, philosophy and theology
